MPWR Alternative Provision is a specialist provision designed for children and young people aged 5-16 who are at risk of permanent exclusion or who have already been excluded. We offer specialist mentoring programmes for those at risk, or already involved in offending, as well as those struggling with social, emotional and mental health or behavioural needs.
We offer short term respite provision, longer term part time provision with the aim to develop and prepare each individual to reintegrate into their original provision but we can also offer support to those with more complex needs requiring more intensive provision until the end of their studies. We are able to offer provision to those with or without EHCPs.
Our staff team consists of experts from prison education, teaching, mental health support and we use alternative methods to engage young people in education such as; fitness, sport, outreach and community learning and complementary mentoring. Founded by an award winning teacher, with extensive experience in offender learning, mainstream and specialist educational provisions, youth violence and engagement, behaviour, mental health and children in care.
We offer tailored provision and curriculum based on needs, preferences and ambition and strive to ensure success, growth and meaningful progression. We can offer small group provision as well as 1:1 provision and a strong emphasis on life skills as well as academic achievement. Our provision is suitable for those attending school who may need additional support, those who require short term respite provision and those who struggle to access education in other provisions, we are also able to support children in care with specialist residential care professionals within the delivery team.

Education Quality
Once a referral has been received, we will arrange a meeting which will involve key professionals from referring school/La and a from MPWR Group. There will also be an opportunity for the young person to be involved in this process and, at the very least, meet their key people from MPWR Group.
At MPWR Group will can offer a tailored education programme which will take into account interests, goals, strengths and gaps in their development, skills and understanding. We also place strong emphasis on mental health, wellbeing and personal, social and emotional development.
In addition to education, we offer a mentoring programme to enhance their PSE development and this can be offered alongside education or as a stand alone service.
Where a young person is dual registered we will communicate effectively with all providers to ensure we are utilising our staff productively and offering every young person holistic and wholesome opportunities.
We have a staff team with a wide range of skills, qualifications and extensive experience in working with those with additional needs including SEMH, SEND, disengagement and offending behaviour. Individualised learning plans will be adapted and created to ensure delivery is tailored to the needs of individual as well as helping to match the best key staff for the most productive and meaningful working relationship. Being an outreach and community based provision we have open ended ability to tailor the delivery, content and safe spaces to each young person to both support and positively challenge their development.
After the professionals meeting has taken place and provision has been agreed, the young person will have 1 – 3 sessions of induction which involves meeting the team (and other young people where appropriate), taking part in team bonding activities with their key people and producing a plan of how they feel they would like to be educated, mentored as young person’s voice is important to us.
Awaiting update.
